Unfortunately, once again due to the on going global pandemic, the participants and the EIC have made the informed decision to postponed the Inca Trail Trek.

All participants are very much still looking forward to completing this once in a lifetime challenge, however the safety of the team must come paramount, therefore it will be postponed for another year, until September 2022.

At the start of 2020, JD Electrical and Mechanical Services Ltd,  celebrated after landing an internationally-recognised award for demonstrating high health and safety standards.

For the second year in a row JD Electrical has received a RoSPA Gold Health and Safety Award for working hard to ensure its staff get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vue to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations around the world, making it one of the most sought-after global accolades in health and safety.

“RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safe in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere. Currently, around 7million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA Awards, but the scheme’s influence is even wider.”

A huge well done and congratulations to everyone involved ensuring wherever our staff here at JD work, they are sure to return home safely. We hope this continues into 2021 and beyond.

2020 has been a year of highs and lows unfortunately the Inca Trail for EIC this September will not be filled with high and low views across the mountains of Peru.

The decision has been made to postpone the walk for the Electrical Industries Charities until September 2021, where hopefully travel restrictions may have eased and the risk of Covid-19 has minimised around the world.

Do not fear though all donations are safe and waiting for the completion of the challenge and if you have donated yet it's not too late.
