JD Electrical

Keep up to date with our latest news!

At the start of 2020, JD Electrical and Mechanical Services Ltd,  celebrated after landing an internationally-recognised award for demonstrating high health and safety standards.

For the second year in a row JD Electrical has received a RoSPA Gold Health and Safety Award for working hard to ensure its staff get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vue to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations around the world, making it one of the most sought-after global accolades in health and safety.

“RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safe in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere. Currently, around 7million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA Awards, but the scheme’s influence is even wider.”

A huge well done and congratulations to everyone involved ensuring wherever our staff here at JD work, they are sure to return home safely. We hope this continues into 2021 and beyond.

Congratulations to Robbie Walker for celebrating his 10 year anniversary this month with JD Electrical.

Robbie joined us back in 2010 as a young apprentice and has worked hard over the years to complete his electrical apprenticeship, he has now been working as our Junior Estimator for 4 years.

Congratulations to Robbie for his 10 years of service we hope for many more to come!

2020 has been a year of highs and lows unfortunately the Inca Trail for EIC this September will not be filled with high and low views across the mountains of Peru.

The decision has been made to postpone the walk for the Electrical Industries Charities until September 2021, where hopefully travel restrictions may have eased and the risk of Covid-19 has minimised around the world.

Do not fear though all donations are safe and waiting for the completion of the challenge and if you have donated yet it's not too late.

Thank you to everyone that has supported myself and the EIC Inca Trail Team we cannot wait to complete this challenge.

Our Senior Estimator, Paul Holman, has done it again, he’s has been announced as the runner up in the wildlife category for the inaugural Nature TTL Photographer of the year competition.

Congratulations Paul!

From all here at JD Electrical we would like to extend a huge thank you to all at Alarm and Vision for sponsoring a flag for the EIC Challenge to the Inca Trail.

The EIC put flags of your company logo up for sale in sponsorship of the Inca Trail challenge in September and Alarm and Vision kindly sponsored a flag so Lauren will not only be flying a flag for JD Electrical this Autumn but it will be alongside a flag from Alarm and Vision.

Thank you Alarm and Vision!!

It's not too late to sponsor Lauren for the challenge, follow the link below to her sponsorship page.

Our very own Lauren Daniels will be taking on the Inca Trail next year in support of the Electrical Industries Charity.

The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) helps provide preventative and high impact solutions to everyone in the electrical and energy industries, including their family members and retired colleagues to meet their practical and wellbeing needs.

Everyone here at JD Electrical has seen at first hand the positive impact that EIC has had and their continuous help and support to everyone in our industry is invaluable.

Lauren will be taking on this challenge with 13 members of the industry from across the UK in September 2020.

We here at JD fully support Lauren as she flies a JD flag along the Inca Trail. We hope you can help support Lauren and the EIC with any donation no matter how great or small, please follow the link below.

Lauren will be posting updates along her fundraising journey and most importantly of her trip of a lifetime.

Good Luck Lauren!

Congratulations to our Senior Estimator, Paul Holman for his inclusion in the Country File Calendar for 2018.

This is the second award this year for Paul, we hope he doesn’t think about a career change.

All here at JD Electrical and Mechanical Services would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest Contracts Manager, Martin Tracey.

Martin has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge, already taking the lead on projects on site with existing clients. Martin has already made an impact as a valued member of the team.

Since early planning and development stages JD Electrical have provided the local scout group, which is close to home for some at JD Electrical, with designs and electrical advice to help complete this long running project. With the help of our suppliers we have been able to see this plan, through design and build, with the donations received for this local charity.

Here at JD Electrical & Mechanical Services Ltd we would like to welcome Joe Pear to the team as our newest apprentice.
